When I picture a delicious, hot submarine sandwich, the last thing that comes to mind are spring vegetables. That was until I stumbled upon the newest addition to Merigan Sub Shop's menu.
The Spring Veg sando is a dynamite creation, packed with perfectly tender jumbo asparagus, rich and meaty king trumpet mushrooms, a healthy dose of green garlic, and lusciously ooozy crescenza (a super-soft cow's milk cheese). Despite the fact that there is not a lick of meat in sight, this sub is no joke (please note the image provided of the sandwich with a 2-month old baby to show scale).
If you're in the Bay Area and craving some hearty, vegetable-packed goodness, I strongly suggest you check it out!
