While San Francisco may be In-N-Out obsessed, New York City is Shack (not Shaq) obsessed. The Shake Shack is a modern day 'roadside' burger stand serving delicious burgers, fries and frozen custard and come rain or come shine New Yorker's (who hate to wait for anything) wait in line for hours to get their burger fix.
Fortunately for the The B-Team, the original Shake Shack location in Madison Square Park is a just a hop, skip and a jump from our office headquarters, so one day last week on a perfect summer day in the city, the B-Team decided to take a field trip and have a burger picnic in the park.
The infamous line...Goes much faster than you think and good things come to those who wait.
We placed our order: Shack Burger (the classic), Smoke Shack (with bacon and cherry peppers), and a Shroom Burger (a fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and chedder cheeses). No self-respecting foodie would order a burger without fries and a shake...so fries and shakes all-around!
Order in - check. Table scored - check. Now we wait (patiently) to be buzzed with news that our order is ready.
Vegetarian option... known as the Shroom Burger. Yum.
Milk shakes and french fries and burgers! OH MY! There's no place like Shake Shack.
There are Shake Shack locations up and down the East Coast of the U.S., and internationally, too! Check out their website for locations near you.
