Is it Bobby's delicious new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, GATO, that has me in the mood or is it the blazing summer heat that has me craving one of my favorite cocktails, SANGRIA? Perhaps it is both! The B-Team is celebrating all things grilling this month and what better drink to serve at an outdoor party than fruity, colorful, refreshing sangria.
Since rosé is my wine of choice in the summer I decided to use it for this version of sangria instead of my usual go-to Sauvignon Blanc. Rosé is crisp, refreshing and light, and can please white wine and red wine drinkers alike, plus, you can find many wonderful selections for $15 and under from many of the top regions such as Provence and Rioja.
I included some of Bobby's favorite summertime fruits... berries, peaches and nectarines in my rosé sangria recipe. I also added a bit of Framboise (an intensely flavored raspberry brandy) and peach nectar for extra fruity flavor, plus a splash of raspberry club soda for a bit of effervescence.
