I love making my own soda (check out my recipe for homemade cream soda!). In honor of taco month on bobbyflay.com, I created a recipe for a beloved Mexican favorite: jamaica, aka hibiscus.
You'll find hibiscus--in tea bags, or loose--in the tea aisle at your local grocery store or specialty market (my go-to brand is Republic of Tea). It has a tangy, dark-fruit flavor that goes wonderfully with the ginger and orange I added to the mix. The soda is just barely sweet--the better to taste the hibiscus!
This ruby-hued sparkler is a perfect pairing for a taco feast, but don't limit it to Mexican meals--it goes with everything, and is delicious morning through night. And if you're in the mood for something a little more serious than soda, swap the seltzer for cava!
