Whenever I am on the prowl for a cozy meal, I look no further than the tattered cookbooks I inherited from my grandmother. Leafing through the grease-stained pages adorned with annotations in her flowing script, I find an unlimited selection of hearty comfort foods. This year, though, having spent the month of January devoted to clean eating, it’s seems sacrilegious to dive headlong into a recipe whose first ingredients are ground veal and lard. It seems my quest for my favorite comfort food, meatloaf, would need to take a bit of detour.

As a taco fanatic and descendant of several West Texas cattle ranchers, it was initially quite difficult for me to warm to the idea of vegetarian tacos. But after exhaustive research (aka eating), I am totally hooked. Consider these tacos as inspiration for your Meatless Mondays and Taco Tuesdays.

If hard pressed, I would have to settle on tacos as my Last Supper. So, you can imagine my delight at hearing that for an entire month the B-Team is devoting it’s attentions to this noble Mexican delicacy.

This month it is all about the Mediterranean which has us thinking and nibbling all sorts of deliciousness. A definite noted favorite is the one and only…. (drumroll please) cheese! Within such rich and diverse food cultures our beloved cheese is consistently at the heart of it all. After all, who doesn’t like cheese?

As Indian Summer sets up camp for a few weeks in the Bay Area, my instinct to eat as many tomatoes, melons and stone fruits runs high. To further help this cause, I head directly to Contigo, arguably one of San Francisco's best Spanish restaurants owned by Brett and Elan Emerson. Their menu, billed as “love letter to Spain” features rustic dishes inspired by the vivid flavors of Barcelona. Everything is cooked from scratch using products from local farmers, ranchers and fishmongers.

To kick off Mediterranean month at the B-Team, I’d like to offer you a cocktail, an Ouzo cocktail that is. Ouzo, a Greek spirit distilled from grapes and flavored with anise, is typically served as an aperitif and lends itself well to sipping straight, on the rocks, or my favorite, as a cocktail. If you're fan of anything remotely liquorice or fennel - this should be your next drink!

Few ingredients spell summer better than a ripe tomato if you ask me. And on a hot summer day, a delicious, cool Gazpacho made from August tomatoes is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to enjoy them.

One of the many benefits of living in California is a vast wealth of superb local wines. Does this make up for the insane state tax rate? Prrobably not, but at the very least you can easily drown your sorrows in a delicious Cabernet.

Is it Bobby's delicious new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, GATO, that has me in the mood or is it the blazing summer heat that has me craving one of my favorite cocktails, SANGRIA? Perhaps it is both! The B-Team is celebrating all things grilling this month and what better drink to serve at an outdoor party than fruity, colorful, refreshing sangria.

This month the B-Team is featuring all things grilled, whether it’s your backyard BBQ, park side picnic, or costal campsite. And where there's smoke there's s'mores!

While San Francisco may be In-N-Out obsessed, New York City is Shack (not Shaq) obsessed. The Shake Shack is a modern day 'roadside' burger stand serving delicious burgers, fries and frozen custard and come rain or come shine New Yorker's (who hate to wait for anything) wait in line for hours to get their burger fix.

That spells Dallas! And that is my absolute favorite of burger on the Bobby's Burger Palace menu.

OK it's burger month here at bobbyflay.com so let's talk burgers! What's MY favorite BBP burger? I have to admit, I go back and forth between two: sometimes it's the Dallas.....

I would say it's common to feel overwhelmed when you find yourself in a wine store, surrounded by hundreds of different bottles, with a mission to find a great wine to serve to your family and friends. No need to play it safe or blindly choose a bottle any longer...

Remember those designer imposter perfumes? “If you like Georgio, You’ll love Primo”, promising us that, while we like the real thing, we’d be just as happy, if not more so, with this brand new version! Let’s face it, Primo always sucked. I wanted Georgio.

Bobby recently sent us to ABC Kitchen – it’s a place he loves and he wanted us to try some of the vegetable dishes there (it's vegetable month here on BobbyFlay.com, you know).

Since May is Vegetable Month on BobbyFlay.com, and I'm in the GATO kitchen every single night, why not highlight a few more vegetarian-friendly dishes available on our Mediterranean-inspired menu.

It’s been a crazy couple of months. My newest restaurant, GATO, opened in New York on March 3rd and the following weeks have been at once exhilarating, challenging, exhausting…and absolutely worth every second.
